Bethel West Pasco Church Facility

AJ Development converted a 12,000 square foot retail space into a church building, complete with five classrooms and a daycare facility.

AJ Development acted as the contractor for the completion of this church branch on a volunteer basis in effort to give back to the community where we live and work. We managed and oversaw the project, but rather than using subcontractors to complete the job, we instead utilized and trained talented volunteers from Bethel's congregation to complete the work. It was a rewarding way to watch the community come together.

The project began with 12,000 square feet of existing lease space in a strip mall. AJ Development demolished the existing storefronts in the space and converted it into a church complete with five classrooms, daycare facilities, and a worship hall that included a state-of-the-art sound system, light system, and audio/visual controls.

The main entrance to the church acts a central hub, bringing together the entrances to the five classrooms and worship halls while leaving enough room for fellowship.

The key to this project was creating a space that would hold a lot of people while still promoting togetherness and connection. AJ Development kept this in mind as it completed the project. For example, the church's entryway includes a kitchen area for serving refreshments, but it was designed to keep the fellowship hall open for church-goers.

AJ Development was proud to partner with the community and train volunteers to create a functional, high-quality center that will serve the West Pasco area for years to come.

High school students volunteered to work with AJ Development to hang doors and install trim.

AJ Development and its volunteers installed custom, concrete-poured counter tops.

The church's bathroom featured tile work on the floors and walls.

AJ Development is committed to value. By stripping and resealing the floors and painting the ceilings black, we created a pleasant, non-distracting theater environment while keeping costs at a minimum.

The worship hall is versatile in its uses because of its open design.

The finished facility's state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment created rock-concert like atmosphere that appealed to younger congregation members, a priority of Bethel's that AJ Development kept in mind.
